Box Office Report: Lucy rules for a fourth week.

For a fourth consecutive week, Lucy stays on top of the South African Box-Office chart. The film made over R1.25 millon, in its fourth week on local cinemas. Just as last week, the film is the only top 10 title to have box office returns amount to over a million Rand. The film is distributed by United International Pictures and was played on 87 cinemas locally, down by 2 from last week`s 89.

The drama film If I Stay enters the chart at an impressive number 2, even though its figures of over R514 thousand were not enough to dethrone the former. If I Stay however remains the highest entry for the week. The film is distributed by Times Media Films and was screened on 45 cinemas nationwide.

Guardians of the Galaxy is still going strong and makes an impressive chart jump this week from position 5 to 3. The film made over R505 thousand on its 7th week on the chart. The Ster-Kinekor distribution was played on 45 cinemas domestically, the same figure as last week.

Times Media Films, cop comedy Lets Be Cops remains stationary at number 4 in its sophomore week. The film made over R492 thousand and was played on 32 screens nation wide.

The top five is rounded off with a new release And So It Goes. The film also distributed by Times Media Films made over R366 thousand in cinemas locally. It was played on 34 screens.

For another week Times Media Films maintains a domination in the ‘top 10′ market share with 50% , Ster-Kinekor  in second with 30% and  United International Pictures  in a tie with Black Sheep Films at third with 10% each
