Chadwick Boseman to Star in Marvel’s ‘Black Panther’

Chadwick Boseman is set to star in Marvel’s “Black Panther,” it was revealed Tuesday. Boseman has signed a five-picture deal with Marvel, an individual with knowledge of the deal has told TheWrap.

Boseman joined Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans onstage, where the established superheroes bucked-up for his services for “Captain America: Civil War.”

Black Panther is also getting his own movie, which will hit theaters on Nov. 3, 2017. “It’s about how this isolationist country of Wakanda needs to meet the world,” said Marvel’s Kevin Feige.

“I’m blessed to be part of this Marvel Universe and I look forward to making magic together,” said Boseman.

Best known for playing Jackie Robinson in “42” and James Brown in “Get On Up,” Boseman will soon be seen in Alex Proyas‘ “Gods of Egypt.” He’s repped by Greene & Associates, Management 360 and Ziffren Brittenham.
