Empire’s first season gave us some memorable flashbacks (young Jamal in a trashcan!), and it appears they’ll continue in season two: Kelly Rowland has been added to the cast, reports E! News. And she’ll play none other than Lucious Lyon’s mother in a flashback. Because only in Lee Daniels’s twisted world could the former Destiny’s Child member be related to that. In possibly more exciting news, Rowland now bringsEmpire one small step closer to getting Beyoncé onboard. (Given Lucious was loosely based on Jay Z, it’s only right that Bey get a cameo.) Cookie could always use another sister!
