Maps Mapoyane has been revealed as the new host of the second season of I Am South African.
The show, which was previously hosted by Hulisani Ravele, is set to make its comeback on 13 July on ANN7.
I am South African is a build-up to the annual South African of the Year (SATY) awards, which celebrates the initiatives of some of our country’s brave men and women.
The 83-episode show will see artists, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, politicians and athletes share their stories with the rest of the nation.
“I look forward to uncovering great stories from some of South Africa’s extraordinary people in our communities doing extraordinary things. With this show we will be telling inspirational real-life stories and sharing the journeys of the nominated personalities as well as challenges they faced to get where they are,” Maps said in a statement.
Adding, “Some of these people have sacrificed a lot to be where they are. More than anything, ‘I am South African is about promoting a narrative of positivity.”
