WHAT GOES DOWN…

Ride Along is an action comedy movie about love, trust, letting go, betrayal, proving a point, protection, and most of all family. Kevin Hart plays Ben Barber,  a high school security guard whose girlfriend is much more successful than he is; in reality you might question this but a hollywood movie can overcome all things, so yes they love each other dearly. The biggest challenge Ben now faces is being accepted by his girlfriend’s brother in law James Payton (Ice Cube) who happens to be a tough no nonsense cop.

In an attempt to prove validate himself to James, Ben signs up to be a police officer. They both don’t see eye to eye which puts a damper on Ben’s marriage plans for James’ sister. They begin a “Ride Along” journey whereby James pulls all sorts of tricks to try and break Ben’s spirit of trying to be a cop and pursing his sister. There’s action, there’s unstoppable laughs but throughout the journey themes of acceptance, trust, love and respect are captured.

THE PLAYERS…

Ride Along is an action comedy film directed by Tim story with a wonderful mixture of talent such as Ice Cube (James Payton) as the serious cop, Kevin Hart (Ben Barber) as the fast-talking, jumpy security guard who can talk his way in and out of anything that comes his way, and Tika Sumpter (Angela) who is the sexy, gorgeous girlfriend who love both of these men that are in her life.

Don’t expect any dull moment on this movie, especially Kevin Hart’s unstoppable punch lines and sense of humor. The storyline is pretty simple, lots of fun to watch for all ages but be warned that there is some sensitive language used throughout the movie. There’s a nice touch of surprise cameos from some well known stars such as John Leguizamo, Bruce McGill, Laurence Fishburne, Bryan Callen, Jay Pharoah, Gary Owen, the young Benjamin Flores Jr, Angie Stone, and many more.

WHY OWN IT…

If you are into action comedy or a Kevin Hart fan. There’s action and comedy which makes it suitable a night out with the boys or if you’re taking out you loved one.
