uSkroef noSexy, the straight to DVD film which was released internationally in 2013 by South African producer Uzanenkosi Mahlangu of Ants Multimedia, has been turned into a 26 episode television series. The series will have its season premiere on 6 November 2014 at 21h00 on eKasi+ (channel 105 on OpenView HD) and on 10 November at 21h00 on e.tv

“Not only has e.tv secured the rights to do the TV series, we have also secured the rights to air the feature film once it has been released early next year. The concept of a dramedy is a new and fresh approach never seen before on SA television. We remain committed to exploring new genres and models to enhance local content. South African audiences are hungry for cutting edge drama with a comedic slant. This show will resonate with our core audience and will be a comedic twist that mirrors today’s young and ambitious South African,” says Monde Twala, managing director: e.tv Channels Division.

uSkroef noSexy is a drama/comedy (dramedy) about two best friends who have dreams to move up in life. In an attempt to follow the innate call for men to be men, the two build a garage like Noah built an ark, hoping to make it as big as Steve Jobs. They soon realise that building a garage as a means to be tenderpreneurs is no easy feat.

Uzanenkosi made a deal with a Hollywood distributor which ensured uSkroef noSexy was released internationally on DVD and repackaged into a 21-part iFlick web series.
