On Monday, 8th September 2014, The Vent presented its fourth successful Cinema Escape event at The Zone, Rosebank in  partnership with Ster-Kinekor Theaters. The Vent presented an exclusive pre-screening of The Giver, starring  Brenton Thwaites, Jeff Bridges and Meryl Streep.  The event proved to be a success with a full house cinema. The attendees included movie enthusiasts who scored tickets by entering a competition on The Vent website, Ster-Kinekor officials as well as TV and Radio personalities from Craze and Cliff Central.

The Giver is a film based on a post apocalyptic community where freedom of choice has been made redundant in order to live seemingly perfect, in a world with no pain, suffering and atrocities. The film was shot in Johannesburg and Cape Town, South Africa and also joins the ranks of preceding Hollywood films that have been shot in the country(Safe House,District 9) . Marking South Africa as the prime advent for future film productions.

The Vent is an online film and television platform that launched its website on the 1st of April 2014 and has ever since grown stronger in offering film and television news, reviews, trailers and images. The Vent introduced Cinema Escape to treat its movie enthusiastic readers to a night of escapism through entertaining films like I, Frankenstein, Godzilla and Tammy.
