Win a Home The Design Edition – The Kitchen Challenge

There is plenty of heated drama on Win a Home this Friday at 19:30 on SABC3. This week we see how the remaining design contestants decorate their kitchens. It’s a game of tiling, painting and finding practical materials for a space that a family can prepare memorable meals in.

Teams have three days and R25 000 to decorate their three large open-plan kitchen spaces. All the pressure is on Team Blu Print this time round, as the other teams already comprise of Team Champions, and only they have the added pressure of an individual challenge to complete. Either Rochelle, Wanga or Sifiso is going home. To save themselves they must each prepare a one-minute presentation: – a pitch for a imaginary kitchen design with a fictitious client and a make-believe budget of R100 000. They must present these pitches to the judges as professionally as possible, using budget breakdowns, charts, visual slides and practical floor plans. Can they find time to create a presentation in such a short space of time? Who can stand the heat and who should have stayed out of the kitchen?

Joining the panel as guest judge this week is well known Midlands chef and culinary school owner; Jackie Cameron. She lends her sound knowledge of kitchen functionality to the designers as they have the privilege of spending the afternoon with her. The regular judges are Plascon’s Colour Manager Anne Roselt and CEO of Private Property Simon Bray. Together they judge the completed kitchens and must eliminate one Team Blu Print member.

Team mates and best friends must compete for a spot in the top four – the intensity couldn’t be thicker. The title of Best Designer and the R100 000 prize is within reach for all five contestants.

Viewers have until 1st November to enter Win a Home’s Grand Prize competition, where they could win one of three incredible prizes. The third prize is R50 000 worth of high-end LG products. The second prize is the all new Mercedes-Benz GLC 300. The first prize is a two bedroom home at Ilala Views in Durban, set within the prestigious Umhalanga Ridge area, and enjoying truly magnificent views.

There are two different ways to enter. The first is to simply enter online at The second is via Win a Home’s weekly bonus competitions. By entering online, as well as each SMS to enter the bonus competitions, puts viewers in line to be one of the three winners of the three Grand Prizes!

Win a Home – The Design Edition, airs on SABC3 on Fridays, at 19:30, with a repeat broadcast on Saturdays at 16:30. Find it on 3.

    Wow! What an episode.
How did Sfiso win the kitchen challenge?! He did not even complete his presentation! Just cause he used the wood that the chef used, he won !
Rochelle should of won. She been on point this far.
How come we don’t see the judges critique the designs when they alone (not with contestants)
I think we need qualified judges. Things so secret on the show. Eish, politics I guess.
