
United International Pictures scores their second consecutive week at number 1 on the South African box office chart, with Zac Efron and Seth Rogen comedy Bad Neighbours. The film opens up at the summit with over R1.77 million made in its debut weekend. What is remarkably notable for the feature is that it was played on only 54 screens nation wide, the least for any films in the top 5.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is stationary with the runners-up position in its second week of availability with over R1.66 million made on the box office. The Times Media Films release got a boost with the number of screens it was playing on, with 108 nation wide, registering the most for any film in the top 5, up by 18 from last weeks 90 screens.
After ruling the box office for three weeks the juggernaut blockbuster Transformers: Age of Extinction, dips 2 positions down to number 3 with over R1.54 million made in its fourth week of availability. The United International Pictures release also got a screen boost nation wide playing on 90 screens, up to 8 from last weeks 82.
At number 4, the chart also has former number 1 How To Train Your Dragon 2, the film has experienced the most longevous run on the chart. In its fifth week the Times Media Films release made over R1.34 million, playing on 82 screens nation wide down by 7 from last weeks 89.
Rounding up the top 5 the chart has another Times Media Films release with Blended which makes over R1.17 million in its third week of availability. The film was played on 77 screens nation wide, down by 1 from last weeks 78.

This week Times Media Films maintains its ‘top 10′ market share with 50% percent of the films in the top 10,Sterkinekor remains stationary at number 2 with a 20% tie with United International Pictures and CB rounds up the top 3 with 10%.
The overall weekend gross for the top 5 films is standing at R7 493 038 million for the week/weekend July 18-20 down 20.72% from last week.
