After 10 years of providing Mzansi’s television viewers with exciting fun and games and fabulous prizes, the popular local game show, Friends Like These, is ready to undergo a much-needed re-vamp.

Season 13 of the series which is currently airing on SABC1 every Saturday at 18h00, will come to an end in early 2016.

SABC1 Mzansi Fo Sho continues on the quest to improve on its content offering by introducing fresh formats as well as refreshing current popular shows on its schedule.

The time has come to revamp the popular Saturday night game show, Friends Like by introducing a whole lot of new elements including:  better and more exciting games and a new face or two of the show.

“SABC 1 is sad to part ways with DJ Sbu (Sbusiso Leope) after so many years of working together.  He has grown with the channel over the years and the time to move on has come. The channel will be resuming the process of identifying suitable replacement(s) to steer the show to greater heights soon, says Zandile Nkonyeni, Head of PR: SABC TV Channels.

“I am humbled to have worked with Urban Brew, BBC and SABC1 to create such a successful game show. Its time to move on to bigger challenges as a youth leader in Business and Community Projects through my Foundation,” comments DJ Sbu. “I am excited about my future endeavours in the Business world. It’s about time I pass on the baton to younger fresh talent. It’s going to be an exciting 2016. I’m looking forward to seeing the show grow from strength to strength. I still will be part of the show from the sidelines to advise and give guidance wherever I can, to make sure that the show continues to be the success it has been for the past decade. Wishing the new team well in their new challenge,” he adds.

The new season of the game show is scheduled to start early 2016 on Mzansi’s number 1 entertainment channel and will also spot a new look and feel, adopt new graphics and logo. SABC1 hopes the viewers will enjoy the new elements and that the participants will be challenged by the new games. Saturday evening on SABC 1 promises to remain fun and as exhilarating as ever.

The channel will soon communicate the developments once all the new elements are put in place.
