Shonda Rhimes has already made a huge name for herself as a showrunner, creator and producer. Now, she’s slated to add actress to her list of achievements with an appearance on “The Mindy Project.”

In an episode slated to appear early in the fall, Rhimes will play herself, according to media reports. No further plot details have been made available about the guest spot, which is in keeping with the secrecy Rhimes holds around her own show, “Scandal.”

Rhimes has admitted to being a huge fan of both Mindy Kaling and “The Mindy Project,” which kicks off its third season on Tuesday, Sept. 16 at 9:30/8:30c.

A week later, Shondaland Thursdays begin on ABC, with season premieres for “Grey’s Anatomy” at 8/7c, followed by “Scandal” and new entry “How to Get Away With Murder.”
